As a land of sacred waters, the history of healing in Akumal runs deep.
It is our honor to meet you there for a holistic yoga adventure immersed in Akumal’s natural beauty, traditional rituals and ceremonies, sacred healing waters, artful and healthy cuisine and more!
Our retreat also coincides nicely with the traditional Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos. Unfolding over two days, this celebration, contrary to what many people believe is not just about death – it’s about joy, celebration, and connecting to our own ancestral heritage and learning how it can support us. During our time there, we will strive to understand and appreciate the depth and beauty of the Day of the Dead, with one of our main themes being: eliminating the veil that separates us from our ancestral heritage which continually supports us in our human walk.

Tami Gingrow has been studying and practicing holistic health and wellness all her life. Tami has been practicing yoga since 1996 and teaching yoga since 2010. Her own style, transformational yoga, has evolved through years of practicing the foundational yoga styles of Iyengar and Anusara, balancing her energy centers with a kundalini practice, through shamanic journeying, Egyptian Shamanism, immersing herself in nature and cultivating a daily meditation practice. Holistic health means integrating body, mind and spirit. Tami believes fueling the body through nutrition is an individualized science. Being in tune with nature and her cycles is the key to a balanced life.
